We started contemplating ponds when standing next to one. We had three weeks with this particular pond, and each day we would look at it for long periods while talking to each other about our practice. We noticed stuff - new things everyday - how things were competitive for food, or in sync with each other. The different layers of water, mud, surface, that interacted and supported different life forms. We watched the tadpoles sprout legs.

We talked about the ways the pond reminded us of the way other stuff worked together - how communities function, how we all co-exist. In particular  how and where people gather, how it’s not possible to see or experience everything at once, the ever changing nature. The impossibility of holding it, or interacting through physical touch. Of witnessing and taking note, and feeling present.
